Adventurous Elopements
These couples all chose to have an adventure elopement. You will see the oceans, canyons, waterfalls, lakes, cliffs and redwood trees!
Let's put it this way, traditions are not mandatory for you and your boo. There may be friends or family who insist otherwise, but this is your life, your love and your wedding day...so this is all about you. The two of you get to decide on every detail of your day so that it is perfect for the two of you, and have no regrets. In case you would like some ideas, here are some that can help you plan your wildly romantic elopement.
First of all, in case you are looking for the very least amount of people to intrude upon your day, have your photographer sign as a witness to your marriage license! And if less people is really what you want, I am a photographer and am ordained to officiate in the state of Arizona! This works out perfectly if the two of you write your own vows. I think this makes sense for those of you that truly want an intimate elopement ceremony.
So what's next? Let's find your perfect spot. Make it your honeymoon spot! We have tons of ideas all over the state, out of state and internationally. We love spots that are highly scenic and that provide for an epic sunset! We can pick a spot where you get to enjoy a hike to your perfect ceremony site, or find something that requires less travel by foot but is still filled with adventure. Depending on the location, we may need to get a permit for your elopement. Most locations, including hiking trails, do not require permits for elopements. However, this is subject to certain rules – for example, free-standing equipment such as tables and chairs are not allowed along the trail in most cases. Arizona State Parks and Coconino National Forest are two locations that require permits for elopements.
You can still plan for all the wonderful details that you love like carrying a wedding bouquet, getting your hair and make up done, and wearing that dreamy gown. You can also plan to have certain loved ones to be present with you if there are family or friends that you can't imagine getting married without. Do you babe.
Next, prepare your vows. Your vows can be something you find that are pre-written and traditional, or you can write your own, surprising your lover on the day of your elopement with your written words of love.
After you have set your date, find your perfect wedding day lodging and romantic spot to have dinner and celebrate your new life with each other. You can go all out here, since you have just saved a ton of money by eloping!
Then, let's do this thing! Say your vows, kiss your favorite, and walk away being married to your person. Yes, eat cake! Pop the champagne! Do all the things that make it right for you.
Where do we come in? Michael and I are a photo + video team and will provide you with the wonderful memories that will last a lifetime, and that you can share with your friends and family for years to come. We are super chill and specialize in adventure and photographing love in the epic locations.
